Hands-On Training for Careers in Warehouse Logistics
The Warehouse Training Program at the Central Texas Food Bank provides hands-on experience and industry certifications to prepare participants for careers in warehouse operations and logistics. Over six weeks, trainees learn essential skills in inventory management, shipping and receiving, forklift operation, and workplace safety—all at no cost to students.
Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and virtual reality simulations, participants gain the knowledge and experience needed to secure stable, in-demand jobs in the logistics and supply chain industry.

What You’ll Learn
- Warehouse Operations – Shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management
- Forklift Operation – Hands-on training and official forklift certification
- Workplace Safety – JJ Keller-aligned best practices for handling equipment and materials
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) – Introduction to tracking and managing inventory
- Career Development – Resume building, interview prep, and job search assistance
Program Details
- Length: 6 weeks, full-time
- Location: 6500 Metropolis Drive, Austin, TX 78744
- Cost: Free (funded through community donations and grants)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (30-minute lunch break)
- Class Size: Small cohorts for personalized training
- Upon successful completion, participants will receive industry-recognized certifications and job search support to help launch their careers.
Who Can Apply?
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to stand, lift, and perform physical tasks
- Commitment to full program participation
- Must pass a drug test before enrollment
While program completion does not guarantee employment, we provide resume support, networking opportunities, and job application assistance to help graduates secure positions in the industry.
