Austin, TX (May 21, 2018) — Rise Biscuits Donuts, Durham, NC’s award-winning concept featuring both sweet and savory breakfast and lunch options, today announced that all seventeen Rise stores will celebrate National Donut Day on Friday, June 1 by donating 100% of sales of the Chocolate Icing Donut that day to a local hunger relief charity. Rise Austin will be raising money for the Central Texas Food Bank.
“We believe strongly in giving back to each community we operate in,” said Rise Biscuits Donuts CEO Tom Ferguson. “We celebrate the donut every day at Rise so we wanted to take the opportunity to help our local food banks feed those in need on National Donut Day.”
One of Rise’s most popular donuts, the Chocolate Icing features a yeast-raised donut topped with Rise’s decadent chocolate icing.
“I can’t think of a more enjoyable way to fight hunger in our community than by stopping by Rise for a few dozen Chocolate Icing donuts on June 1st,” said Derrick Chubbs, President and CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank. “We’re so grateful to Rise for helping us out as we restock our shelves for the busy summer season, when demand is always high.”
