“Sell a Burger/Give a Burger” Model Provides Valuable Protein for Those in Need
Austin, TX, June 6, 2018 - Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile is excited to announce that they will continue their Burger for Burger campaign for 2018. For every burger sold during June, the Jacoby’s team will donate a burger to the Central Texas Food Bank. The campaign is a way for Austinites to enjoy a meal and give back to the Food Bank at the same time.
This is Jacoby’s fourth year doing Burger for Burger. “We’re thrilled to once again be able to help supply the Central Texas Food Bank with a source of protein, which is a limited resource for those in need in the Austin area,” says owner, Adam Jacoby.
“I can’t think of a better way to fight hunger in our community than by enjoying a Jacoby’s burger,” said Derrick Chubbs, President and CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank. “Burger for Burger will allow the Food Bank to provide Central Texans in need with a valuable source of protein during the busy summer season when demand is extremely high.”
Last June, Jacoby’s sold 1200 burgers and has set a goal of selling at least 1,500 this June, allowing 750 pounds (the equivalent of 625 meals) of Jacoby Brand Beef to be donated to the Food Bank. Jacoby Brand Beef is humanely raised on the Jacoby Ranch in Melvin, TX. Once butchered, the beef is dry aged for 21-28 days and served exclusively at Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile and their sister restaurant Grizzelda’s. Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile is located at 3235 E Cesar Chavez in Austin, Texas 78702, and can be reached directly at (512) 366-5808.
