Thanks to their generosity, we can distribute millions of meals annually across 21 counties, helping children, seniors, and families facing food insecurity. For over a decade, A+ Federal Credit Union (A+ FCU) has been a steadfast partner in the fight against hunger. More than just a place for banking, A+ FCU has embodied a deep commitment to community building. Founded in 1949 by 50 visionary Austin teachers, A+ FCU understands the importance of investing in people. Their belief in strengthening communities aligns perfectly with CTFB’s mission to end hunger and build a more equitable food system.
Since 2012, A+ FCU has been an invaluable ally of the Central Texas Food Bank, contributing not only financial resources but also time and innovative ideas to support our programs.
“At A+ Federal Credit Union, we’re proud to donate and volunteer to fight food insecurity in our community through our A+ Gives program,” Mary Gray, A+FCU Director of Membership Engagement and Programs, said. “Many of our A+FCU team members volunteer throughout the year at the Central Texas Food Bank. Working with them to provide meals to our neighbors in need is very meaningful to us. In just one year, we’ve volunteered over 135 hours to directly support CTFB’s mission to end hunger in Central Texas.”
In 2023, A+ FCU's innovative approach to giving took center stage at CTFB with a $2,000 matching donation for our dipjars, inspiring 128 donors to contribute $2,700. This year, A+ FCU is renewing their commitment with another matching gift, multiplying the impact of every donation and showing their dedication to making a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
The impact of A+ FCU's support doesn’t stop there. Since 2022, A+ FCU employees have collectively donated over 460 hours of volunteer service. From organizing food drives to providing gifts for our children’s programs, their contributions have touched every aspect of our mission. This October 14th, during their annual A+ Gives Day, A+ FCU employees will once again join us at CTFB, showing their continued dedication to service. Their mission—"Banking on each other. Building stronger communities."—comes to life through their commitment to volunteerism and service.
