In 2021, KXAN had the idea to set up a friendly competition between their top meteorologists, David Yeomans and Kristen Currie, to raise funds for the Central Texas Food Bank. In its first year, the event raised more than $80k and the PSA that KXAN created won two media awards. The second year raised even more. 2023 will be the third year.
