It’s finally that night where knowledge about pop culture and random facts that are stored somewhere in your memory bank become useful. The pressure is on as your mind races trying to remember the lyrics to “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath. You start humming the popular guitar riff to jog your memory. Your answer could make or break your team. It’s trivia night with Geeks Who Drink. Eight rounds of eight questions later, and you’ve got bragging rights. Or not.
The trivia masters are shaking up their usual night with Geeks Who Drink Quiz for a Cause. Trivia loving teams compete to help advance a non-profits’ mission. During the special night, participants learn more about the organization and the money raised benefits the nonprofit.
Participants can enjoy a regular night of trivia while they learn more about why hunger relief is important and how they can take action to fight hunger at The Highball on September 7 at 8 P.M. There’s a $5 recommended entry fee. Those who do not wish to pay the entry fee will still be allowed to participate, but will be not be eligible to win the cash purse.
The payout to the top placing team is $5 per team with the rest of the money raised benefiting the Food Bank. For example if there’s 10 teams playing, the payout is $50 to the winning team and the rest of the money raised goes to the non-profit.
