CANstruction is a national hunger awareness event in more than 100 cities across the United States and Canada. In Austin, teams led by local architects, engineers and builders will have just eight hours to build their larger than life sculptures out of canned goods at Barton Creek Square Mall on Saturday, November 14.
Visitors can donate money or drop off a non-perishable food item while they marvel at the structures. You can even vote for your favorite as long as they're on display. While some teams will go home with bragging rights, all will go home winners in our minds since all of the food will go a long way to nourish hungry Central Texans. The sculptures will be on display at the mall from Saturday, November 14 through Sunday, November 22.
This epic battle of architectural design brought in more than 29,600 meals last year.
If your team would like to enter a structure, please register by August 31 online at www.austin.canstruction.org.
