It’s almost that time of year again when family and friends gather for barbecue cookouts and begin permeating the outdoors with the smell of delicious food. As the smoke begins to rise, it’s hard not to whip your head around trying to locate the source of the aroma when you get a whiff of the barbecue. During the BBQ Outfitters Texas EggFest, scores of egg shaped charcoal barbecue cookers called Big Green Eggs will be lit up.
More than 30 Big Green Eggs, 140 cooks, and celebrity chefs come together to celebrate the Big Green Egg and all of its wonders. Participants can learn more about cooking on Big Green Eggs during Texas EggFest University. There’s something for everyone with live music, drinks, food sampling, face painting and balloons.
Texas Eggfest will be held at Camp Ben McCulloch (across from The Salt Lick BBQ) on April 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $60 for adults 21 years and older. $15 for attendees 12-20 years old. Admission for children under 12 is free. Purchase tickets here. Proceeds from the festival benefit the Central Texas Food Bank.
